Welcome to The Murray Bank and thank you for visiting us online. The Murray Bank opened in 1999 as a independently owned and operated institution, and it has remained that way. We have two locations in Murray and recently opened a branch in Hazel, Kentucky.

The Murray Bank was voted the favorite bank in Murray & Calloway County for 20 years. We believe this is because we make sure each customer receives the best service, advice, and assistance as they strive to reach their financial goals.

When we ask our customers why they like banking with us, they consistently mention the high level of personal service they receive, and that we go the extra mile to get to know our customers and anticipate their banking needs.

The Murray Bank is also deeply dedicated to community service. We’re proud our employees take an active interest in the community through volunteering, fundraising, community service, and membership.

Since the early 1990s, large corporate banks have gobbled up local independent banks across the country, and the same was true in Murray and Calloway County. However, in 1998 a group of local business leaders believed there was a need for a locally chartered, independent bank in Murray, Kentucky. So they began the organization of Calloway County's first "grass roots" bank charter in more than 60 years. And on June 15, 1999, The Murray Bank opened its doors for business. Community banking was back.

In 2000, The Murray Bank moved into its newly constructed facility at 405 South 12th Street. We proudly opened the doors of our second location, 700 North 12th Street, in 2002. We added The Murray Bank Online in 2004, giving our customers the convenience of online banking 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In 2014 we continued to expand our services in Murray and Calloway County by opening our third location at 405 Main Street in Hazel. Our staff has grown from nine to 80 employees and the bank now has approximately $400 million in total assets.

In January of 2024 Bauer Financial, Inc. announced The Murray Bank had earned its highest Five-Star Superior rating for financial strength and stability for the 84th consecutive quarter. The Five-Star Superior rating is based on the overall financial condition of the bank and indicates The Murray Bank is one of the strongest banks in the nation.

The Murray Bank has seen dramatic growth and change since its founding. But one thing has never changed: our commitment to customer service. Our goal is to maintain a level of customer service that is second to none. We want to be friends and neighbors helping friends and neighbors solve problems and find solutions. Being an independent community bank allows us to achieve this goal by enabling us to make our own decisions, have all of our operations onsite, and keep all documentation inside the bank.
